I think it's 3 years, as that's how long it says it takes for your Swapits to expire so probably a similar timescale.
Just try to log into your account and see if you can, if not then obviously it's expired. You should be able to remember the answer to your security question if you were telling the truth about the answer.

Yep, says it in the Terms & Conditions:
4.3 Unredeemed Points will expire 36 calendar months after collection.
Whilst I was there I also found this recent add-on:
We reserve the right to cancel or disable any membership if that Member has been inactive for a period of 12 consecutive months. "Inactive" shall be defined as lack of one of the following: website visit (click through); profile update; or any Swapits earning or spending transaction.
So basically if you haven't done anything with your account in the past 1 1/2 years it will be disabled by now.

i think i'll add a code to my account and hopefully that will be classed as "swapits earning" ?
