OK, so I know there is a thread about this already, but how about what is the most popular religion?

Dunno, just to see which is the religion that most people follow [in conjunction with your thread]

ive heard that there are more Christians than Muslims in the world. However one must bear in mind that such people may not be practising such faiths just calling themselves a muslim or christian or whatever by name which in essence would mean nothing if you do not practise, so i hope u can understand why such statistic would in effect be useless.
If you cheat and put the wrong religion down, then you're shaming your religion. If you don't have a religion [ie. religion free] then you're just cheating yourself. Shame on that person.
I agree that people could cheat on this, but... oh well.

Relatively speaking, I am called a Hindu as I have been brought up as one but I'm also more freely religious; I go to a Christian youth club every week and believe in a lot of things that the Bible teaches for instance, but I wouldn't say I am Christian nor am I Hindu- I believe in all paths to God

Why would people be cheating if they chose 'no religion'?
Say a person is catholic [for example]. If they chose "No religion" then they would be cheating to god. Basically, they'd be lying to God.

Sure l'm an Ulster Orangeman, from Erin's isle I came,
To see my British brethren all of honour and of fame,
And to tell them of my forefathers who fought in days of yore,
That I might have the right to wear, the sash my father wore!
It is old but it is beautiful, and its colours they are fine
It was worn at Derry, Aughrim, Enniskillen and the Boyne.
My father wore it as a youth in bygone days of yore
And on the Twelfth I love to wear the sash my father wore
For those brave men who crossed the Boyne have not fought or died in vain
Our Unity, Religion, Laws, and Freedom to maintain,
If the call should come we'll follow the drum, and cross that river once more
That tomorrow's Ulsterman may wear the sash my father wore!
It is old but it is beautiful, and its colours they are fine
It was worn at Derry, Aughrim, Enniskillen and the Boyne.
My father wore it as a youth in bygone days of yore
And on the Twelfth I love to wear the sash my father wore
And when some day, across the sea to Antrim's shore you come,
We'll welcome you in royal style, to the sound of flute and drum
And Ulster's hills shall echo still, from Rathlin to Dromore
As we sing again the loyal strain of the sash my father wore!
It is old but it is beautiful, and its colours they are fine
It was worn at Derry, Aughrim, Enniskillen and the Boyne.
My father wore it as a youth in bygone days of yore
And on the Twelfth I love to wear the sash my father wore

Yes but what if someone just doesn't practice any religion and as never stepped foot in a church and they chose 'no religion' how would they be cheating themselves? Arn't they just telling the truth?

If they have a religion, and they say "No Religion" then they are cheating themselves/their god.
If they don't have a religion and they say "No Religion" then they are telling the truth and not cheating themselves.

To me these statistics are more like saying how populous a religion is and not popular there's a BIG difference in that. e.g China is the most populous country in the world but is it also the most popular?
