I think yes. We were discussing this at school in form time, I think its a good idea to spend 9 Billion, although it is quite alot of money. Some paople may say its far too much for a 4 week event, but its not like the buildings will dissapear afterwards, it will create jobs, housing, great transport and many great sporting facilities for the public to use after the games.

Your thoughts?

No it's not as they are taking money away from the lottery that is used to fund small groups in the form of grants and these now struggling due to their money is being taken away. If they are able to get the money another way then i think it's ok as long as it's used afterwards and not just spent for 4 weeks then forgotten.

Most of its being funded by taxes.

But its not going to be forgotten about after 4 weeks, its a long term thing, transport, housing, leisure facilities, parks etc. Its not a 'Millenium Dome' lmao :P

i will think its fair the next time they pump 9 billion into brittains football stadiums ready for the next time we hold the world/european cup.

but to me lottery money has always been spent on on crap things like opera houses, brass bands and other things half the country will never see, so why should athletics be any different :? :? :?

That tax money is being taken away from the small charities as well.
